The Charlotte 3 All-Stars will Represent North Carolina at the National Championship

Charlotte 3 All-Stars are the 13u Champions at the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional at WindStone Golf Club in Ringgold, Georgia.
WindStone Golf Club in Ringgold, Georgia, welcomed 10 all-star teams of junior golfers representing the Carolinas, Georgia and Tennessee PGA Sections in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional to determine a winner from both the 13u and 17u age divisions.
CHARLOTTE 3 ALL-STARS FROM WATERFORD GOLF CLUB ADVANCE TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Five 13U All-Star teams played for the opportunity to represent their state at the 2022 National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Oct. 6-9 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Championship will be televised live on select ESPN networks.
The Charlotte 3 All-Stars, led by Head Coach Brent Reneau, PGA and Assistant Coach Mike Abate, PGA, defeated TPC Sugarloaf in the championship match, 7-5, to advance to the PGA Jr. League National Championship representing North Carolina.
Charlotte 3 defeated the Par Tee 1 All-Stars of West Columbia, SC, 10-2 and TPC Sugarloaf defeated Tri-Cities 11.5 – 0.5 in semifinal action Sunday morning to advance to the championship match.
TPC Sugarloaf led all teams Saturday in the qualifying stroke-play round with a -36, one shot better than Charlotte 3 who shot a -35. Par Tee 1 shot a -7, followed by Tri-Cities with a -1 and WindStone with a +7.
Teams not making the semi-finals participated in the Raptor Shootout – a 9-hole, two-person scramble. Lawson Hughes and Finlay Etheridge, WindStone 13u All-Stars won the Raptor Shootout.
TANGLEWOOD ALL-STARS WIN 17U CHAMPIONSHIP
Tanglewood All-Stars of Tanglewood Park Golf Club in Clemmons, NC, defeated Indian Hills All-Stars 6.5 – 2.5 in the championship match. Tanglewood is led by Head Coach Daniel Byrd, PGA.
In semi-final action, Tanglewood and Greensboro were tied at 4.5 at the conclusion of match play. Based on the tiebreaker of Day One’s aggregate score, Tanglewood advanced with a -17 compared to Greensboro’s +5. Indian Hills advanced to the championship match with a 5.5 – 3.5 win over Atlanta North.
In Saturday’s qualifying round, Tanglewood led all teams with a -17 in stroke play, 12 shots ahead of Indian Hills with a -5. Atlanta North shot a -2, followed by Greensboro with a +5 and WindStone/Indian Hills with a +13.
Participating in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season for the second year, the growing 17u division (ages 14-17) concludes its All-Star journey at the Regional.
Teams not making the semi-finals participated in the Raptor Shootout – a 9-hole, two-person scramble. Chris Mushik and Noah Wilson of the 17u All-Stars from WindStone/Indian Hills won the Raptor Shootout.
