**PGA HOPE is the flagship military program of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE is designed to introduce golf to Veterans and Active Duty Military to support their social, emotional, and physical well being.**

Join PGA HOPE alongside your fellow Veterans and Servicemembers. PGA HOPE has served thousands of Veterans and Servicemembers across the United States through one of our 300+ locations.

This introductory program is designed to welcome those of all ages, branches and eras of service, genders, and abilities to the golf course and share in camaraderie and fun together as a group. During this session you will learn the basics from grip to 9 holes of golf from PGA and LPGA Professionals.

- No golf equipment is required. If you do have clubs and/or any specialty equipment, please bring them with you.
- No prior golf experience necessary
- No VA disability rating required
- Veterans do not have to have combat or deployments in order to participate
- All expenses associated with PGA HOPE are covered

PGA HOPE San Jose - Spring

Are you unsure of the right way to practice? Do you need some helpful points of emphasis for your practice sessions?

In this series of 1 hour supervised practices, learn to hone your skills the correct way by implementing proven practice techniques under the supervision of PGA Professional Jack Kuller. Coach Jack will set up and walk you through practice routines you can use to help bring your game to the next level.

**What's Included:**

- In your first Supervised Practice, Coach Jack will work with you to establish a baseline of your skills.
- Subsequent lessons will consist of either repetitive block practices, encouraging new skill development, or a variable practice used to test and challenge your new skills on the course.
- Time will be spent on the driving range, chipping and putting areas, and on the golf course.
- Range balls are included.

SPARKPLUGS SIBLINGS (M/W)

AGES 8-18. Accelerators is the developmental stage for young golfers. This level introduces the fundamentals of the game and hones the skills necessary to take your game to the next level. With a 40-point curriculum, players will be able to take their game to the course with confidence. Players that move through this level will be invited to participate in our Academy level and prepare for competitive play. Must have your own clubs.

ACCELERATORS M/W SIBLINGS

AGES 8-18. Accelerators is the developmental stage for young golfers.  This level introduces the fundamentals of the game and hones the skills necessary to take your game to the next level. With a 40-point curriculum, players will be able to take their game to the course with confidence. Players that move through this level will be invited to participate in our Academy level and prepare for competitive play. Must have your own clubs.

 ACCELERATORS (M/W)

The First Tee San Joaquin PGA Jr. League at Swenson Park Golf Course is an exciting, fun, and inclusive team-based youth golf program designed to introduce kids to the game in a social, supportive environment—much like other recreational youth sports such as Little League baseball or soccer.
This program emphasizes team play, skill development, and enjoyment over intense individual competition. Participants wear team jerseys, build friendships, and learn from qualified instructors in a welcoming setting open to all skill levels.

Program Details at Swenson Park Golf Course

Ages & Schedule:

Ages 7-13: 9 practices on Tuesdays from 4:30–5:30 PM, plus 6 matches on select Saturdays with tee times starting at 2 pm.

Ages 14-17: 9 practices on Wednesdays from 4:30–5:30 PM, plus 6 matches on select Saturdays with tee times starting at 2 pm.

Practices: These focused, one-hour sessions are led by PGA Professional Jack Kuller at Swenson Park Golf Course. They cover fundamentals like swing technique, short game, putting, rules, etiquette, and team strategies—creating a nurturing space to build confidence and improve at your own pace.

Matches: The program features 6 competitive yet recreational matches, played in a popular two-player scramble format (both teammates hit shots, the best one is chosen, and play continues from there until the hole is completed). Matches use a fun, point-based match play system (divided into "flags" of 3 holes each for scoring excitement). This format lets everyone contribute, reduces pressure, and keeps things social and encouraging.

Matches: 3/28, 4/11, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/30

Dates for Ages 14-17:
Practices- 3/18, 3/25, 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/27
Matches: 3/28, 4/11, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/30

This league brings friends and families together through golf, fostering lifelong love for the game while developing skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. It's perfect for beginners building basics or more experienced juniors looking for a team-oriented experience.
