GNLGA - Bunker Play
Bunker Play
Build confidence in the sand and learn a simple, repeatable approach to greenside bunker play. This clinic will cover the fundamentals of bunker setup, club selection, using the bounce of the wedge, controlling where the club enters the sand, and developing the speed needed to get the ball out consistently.
Players will learn how setup and technique influence trajectory and distance, along with adjustments for different bunker conditions and situations around the green. The goal is simple: take the uncertainty out of bunker play and develop the skills and confidence to get out in one and give yourself a chance to save the next shot.
Topics include: • Greenside bunker setup and fundamentals • Understanding and using wedge bounce • Controlling sand-entry location • Distance and trajectory control • Adjusting for different sand conditions and lies • Club selection and shot strategy • Practice drills to build confidence and consistency
