Josh Alpert has spent 25 years coaching golf in the South Bay, and in that time he's become one of the most trusted voices in the golf coaching space. Although he works with players of every age and ability, his reputation has been built coaching elite-level juniors who are serious about the game.

His philosophy starts here: sound technical and mental fundamentals are the building blocks for both enjoying golf and reaching real potential as a player. Beyond that, Josh believes the opportunity to build better young people matters as much as building better young golfers. That conviction shapes every program, every lesson, and every conversation.

In 2009, Josh founded Good Swings Happen Junior Golf Academy to give South Bay kids access to programs that are affordable, safe, fun, and professionally run. What started as a small operation has grown into a full academy serving juniors of every age and skill level, with year-round camps, classes, leagues, and individual coaching.

In 2023, he became Junior Golf Director for FlowCode Academy, a leading mental performance platform focused on optimizing how athletes show up on and off the course. Today, Josh leads programs at the new GSH Hub indoor training facility in Lawndale and at Westdrift Golf Course in Manhattan Beach.

His work has been recognized at the highest levels of the profession. Josh is a Golf Digest Top 50 Instructor by State, the 2018 SCPGA Youth Player Development Award winner, the 2023 SCPGA Teacher and Coach of the Year, and in 2024 was inducted into the California Golf Teachers and Coaches Hall of Fame.
