Originally from New England, I attended and graduated from Coastal Carolina University's Professional Golf Management Program in 2014. I worked as an Assistant Golf Professional for seven years at two different facilities (VA & NC) before transitioning into full-time instruction in 2021. I spent three years at GOLFTEC, where I taught over 2000 lessons annually to players of all abilities. In 2024, I was able to return to the Myrtle Beach area as the Director of Player Development at Coastal Carolina's PGM Program, making my journey in the golf industry truly full circle.
My teaching philosophy is simple: accomplish the player's goals through efficiency and effectiveness. Every player is unique, and it is imperative that coaches are flexible in their teaching in order to match it to the student's ability, personality, and motivations. While some students appreciate the full dissection of the golf swing, some may want a slight improvement without massive pattern change. Some students learn better visually while others require more kinesthetic learning. A good coach has the flexibility to balance different personalities and find the appropriate path to accomplishing the student's goals.
My coaching strengths from a golf swing standpoint is in 3D motion and video analysis. I find that understanding the body's specific positions compared to where they are supposed to be is essential for efficient improvement. All lessons with me will include video analysis and the ability for the student to access their content when they are practicing.
My coaching weakness will be time. My career is dedicated to my students at CCU, so any time with me will have to be during their time away from campus. This would include summers and winter break.
Helping players achieve their goals.
