Texas native Chesley Carr grew up in Austin, and after graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, moved back to Austin to begin his 17 year career at Barton Creek Resort & Club. Ches progressed through the roles in the golf department working his way up from Guest Services to Class A PGA Head Golf Professional over seeing operations at all four Barton Creek golf courses. Over the years, he focused primarily on the membership and tournament aspects of the golf business which best utilized his skills in high-end customer service and relationship building. He supported the active golf membership while he also developed, marketed and executed a rigorous member tournament schedule. He was an avid participant in many Southern Texas PGA golf tournaments- winning eight team and pro/am events combined. Chesley was certified through the Chuck Cook Golf Academy teacher training program in 2004 and is also a certified club fitter. Chesley transitioned from the green grass olf world to the indoor golf world, and applied his industry-leading service and years of experience to RokGolf customers in Austin. At RokGolf, Chesley achieved Level I and Level II Trackman certification, as well as became a certified club fitter through Callaway Golf and delved deeply into the instructional side of golf. Chesley taught hundreds of students over his 2 years at ROK Golf. He then returned to Barton Creek Country Club, this time as a master club fitter/club builder with the Barton Creek Fitting Studio. There, as an integral member of the small team that was awarded Golf Digest’s Top 100 Best Clubfitters , he averaged 25-30 club fittings a week and learned to tailor his approach to the needs of any and all types of golfers. He moved to Louisville in 2023 and is excited to bring his array of golf experience to the Golf Headquarters team. Whether you need a new club or a new swing, he’s your guy.
