Gary G Cardoza Jr., PGA
Director of InstructionGary Cardoza Jr. is a PGA of America member with more than 20 years of coaching experience, dedicated to helping golfers elevate their performance through a long‑term, holistic approach. His coaching philosophy emphasizes the complete player—technical skill, physical conditioning, and mental resilience—ensuring that every student develops a game that holds up where it matters most: on the golf course.
Gary is also a proud member of the Proponent Group, an elite global network of accomplished teaching professionals. This community includes over half of the GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teachers, more than 150 PGA Section Teachers of the Year, multiple PGA National Teachers of the Year, and the owners and directors of more than 50 golf academies worldwide.
His work has been consistently recognized throughout New England. From 2009 to 2018, Gary was named one of New England Golf Monthly’s Top 25 Instructors until the magazine was discontinued. He has also been honored with multiple nominations for Golf Digest’s Best Teachers by State (2013–2014, 2015–2016, 2019–2020, 2022-2024, and was also nominated for NEPGA Teacher of the Year (2016 and 2020).
Gary’s coaching is rooted in a “whole golfer” methodology. He tailors instruction to each player’s physical traits, movement patterns, and current skill level, while also training the mental side of the game. A significant portion of his coaching takes place on the course, where he plays alongside students to gain a true understanding of their decision‑making, tendencies, and performance under real conditions. This ensures that swing changes and technical improvements translate into better scoring—not just better practice sessions. As Gary often says, there’s a meaningful difference between playing golf swing and playing golf.
His students range from young juniors to lifelong golfers. Among them are competitors in the U.S. Kids World Championships, multiple Drive, Chip & Putt qualifiers, collegiate players—including Division I athletes—and golfers of all ages who simply love the game and want to improve. At present, his youngest student is four years old and his oldest is eighty‑six, a testament to his ability to connect with and elevate players at every stage of their golfing journey.
