Jeff Langguth
PGA Head ProfessionalI grew up 5 minutes from the Mt. Prospect Golf Club. I started taking golf lessons there at the age of 12 years old and have been hooked on golf ever since. I played 3 years for the Elk Grove High School team, whose home course was there as well. I began working at the Mt. Prospect Golf Club as a cart attendant in 1994 at the age of 17. I continued to work there through college and began teaching golf lessons in 1998. I graduated from Elmhurst College in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration; I then decided I wanted to pursue becoming a PGA Member as my career. I passed my PGA Playing Ability Test in 2002 to enter into the PGA Apprentice Program. In 2007, I became a Member of the PGA of America and was promoted to PGA Head Professional at the Mt. Prospect Golf Club, a position that I still hold today.
Ironically, 33 years after I was given my first golf lesson by a PGA Professional, I am now the PGA Professional giving lessons to juniors at the same facility where I grew up and learned how to play. I have 25 years experience teaching golf to people ages 4 to 95 of all different abilities. I specialize in teaching juniors and beginners. These two categories are the future of golf and as PGA Professionals, it's our job to teach and promote the game so it will continue to grow for years to come.
