
Jon Schoepf, PGA
Co-Director of InstructionJon is currently the Co-Director of instruction at Rolling Hills Country Club, located south of Los Angeles. He is currently recognized as one of Golf Digest’s Best Young Teachers in America (2021-2024) and was also named as one of the best teachers in California by Golf Digest from 2022-2023. He has also been named a US Kids Golf Honorable Mention Coach for five years in a row.
Originally from central Pennsylvania, Jon attended the Pennsylvania State University and has been a PGA member since 2014. Upon graduation, Jon joined the #1 ranked golf school in America and worked for Golf Digest Hall of Fame Instructor, Jim McLean in Miami, Florida. After becoming a Jim McLean Certified Instructor, Jon accepted a position with Golf Digest’s only Top 50 Instructor and Club fitter, James Leitz in Covington, Louisiana. After several seasons in Louisiana, Jon decided to rejoin the Jim Mclean Golf School where he later became the Director of Instruction and Master Instructor at the Miami Beach location.
Jon has performed extensive research about the golf swing with a variety of 3D Motion Capture Systems such as Gears, Golf BioDynamics, and Qualisys. He has also completed Dr. Kwon’s extensive Level 1 and 2 Golf Biodynamics certification process. With regards to short game, Jon completed James Ridyard’s Wedge Matrix Certification Program and has also spent an ample amount of time with PGA/LPGA Tour short game specialist, James Sieckmann.
Jon understands that to really improve at golf, you must work on all areas of the game. This is why he continues to seek out and learn from the world’s best coaches. Currently, Jon has completed certifications and shadowed lessons from 10 of the top 50 coaches in the country. In addition to being a TrackMan Certified Instructor, Jon is also a TPI Certified Fitness Instructor, Swing Catalyst Certified Instructor, Sam PuttLab Level 2 Instructor, US Kids Level 2 Certified Instructor and a Titleist/Footjoy staff ambassador.
Jon has experience teaching all levels of players including LPGA Tour players and Epson Tour winners. He is especially passionate about coaching aspiring junior golfers and currently oversees all programs at the Rolling Hills Junior Golf Academy. Jon separates himself by creating custom training plans for his students to ensure steady improvement and substantial learning.
