Kirk grew up mostly in Indiana but has lived and worked in Kentucky since 1990. He was the Head Golf Professional/Superintendent at Mt. Sterling Country Club (Mt. Sterling, Kentucky) from 1990 to 2004 and has been the Head PGA Golf Professional at Juniper Hill Golf Course since, May, 2004. He has been active in the Kentucky PGA Section serving on the Board of Directors for almost 10 years. He also served as Tournament Chairman for many years and was an active player winning the Player of the Year Award several times. Kirk's mind is pretty simple so he keeps his instruction pretty simple as well! As he has gotten older he has shifted emphasis from teaching people how to play "golfswing" to teaching people how to play "GOLF"!

Juniper Hill Golf Course opened in 1957 and has been a municipal (City of Frankfort) golf course since its inception. It is just over 6,000 yards from the longest tees and plays to 4,000 yards from the shortest tees. Despite its short length it remains a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Relatively small, difficult to read greens makes scoring a challenge for everyone. However, even beginning level golfers will have some good holes here!
