Ryne grew up in Reynoldsburg, Ohio and he developed an early interest in golf, working at Columbus Country Club for 5 years. He went on to The Ohio State University where he played club golf and studied Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Before he came to the SOPGA Section office, Ryne worked locally at The Medallion Club, NorthStar Golf Club, and Wedgewood Golf and Country Club, as well as Pinnacle Peak Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ. Ryne is a Class A member of the PGA.
