Trey Thornock is a PGA Associate golf professional and instructor at Dick’s House of Sport, bringing years of full-time teaching experience and a deep passion for player development at every level. Previously, Trey served as Director of Instruction at Douglas Wyoming Golf Club during the summer months and Cave Creek Golf Course in Arizona during the winter, allowing him to work year-round with a diverse range of golfers in different playing conditions.
Over the course of his career, Trey has taught more than 5,000 lessons, working with beginners just starting the game, competitive junior golfers, recreational players, and fellow PGA professionals. His experience across a wide range of skill levels has shaped a coaching style that is adaptable, efficient, and results-driven.
Trey’s love for the game led him to pursue a full-time career in teaching, where he has become known as a dynamic, detail-oriented coach with a genuine passion for helping golfers improve and enjoy the process. His teaching philosophy centers on building solid fundamentals, developing individualized strategy, and creating an engaging, positive learning environment. Trey believes that golf should be accessible, rewarding, and fun—regardless of age, experience, or ability.
Using modern coaching tools such as video analysis, TrackMan technology, and structured practice plans, Trey helps players understand cause-and-effect relationships in their swing and short game while avoiding unnecessary complexity. Whether a player is learning the basics, working to lower scores, or refining competitive performance, Trey is committed to helping each student reach their full potential.
