As one of several initiatives happening at the 2020 PGA Championship aimed to inspire the future of the game, the PGA of America, San Francisco Pride, and the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce will hold a virtual Pride panel discussion on LGBTQ Inclusion in Golf.
Golfer and influencer Tisha Alyn Abrea will be one of the panelists participating — alongside Greg Fitzgerald, PGA, Head Golf Pro at the Institute Golf Club, the PGA’s Chief People Officer Sandy Cross and multiple other golf industry professionals.
In June of 2019, Tisha was one of several personalities featured in Skratch TV’s Pride Month series supporting the 50th Anniversary of Gay Rights in America. Her feature story was the first time she opened up about her sexual identity and she’s been living her truest, most authentic self ever since.
Her college golf career was at the start of the Instagram boom, so Tisha started experimenting on the platform in 2015. Fast forward five years and she now has a loyal and passionate golf following of over 175,000 people. From dancing and playing instruments to golf trick shots and brand activations at tournaments, Tisha is making the most of her platform.
What started out as a way to show others how much fun golf can be has now turned into something much greater: how much fun it is to embrace your true self.
