This weekend, 14 teams of junior golfers from the Middle Atlantic, New Jersey and Philadelphia PGA Sections competed in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. to determine champions from both the 13u and 17u age divisions. The top 13u team will advance to the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., Oct. 6-9 which will be televised live on ESPN.
FIRST TRIP TO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR HAWORTH 13u ALL-STARS

Eight teams competed In the 13u division - ages 10-13 - with the junior golfers from Haworth Country Club in New Jersey coming back from a fourth-place spot after stroke play to capture the 13u championship at the Region 3 National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Regional on Sunday Sept. 4 at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. This is the first trip to the National Championship for the Haworth All-Stars.

The Haworth 13u All-Stars entered semi-final play Sunday morning in fourth place with a 19-under qualifying round in Saturday's stroke play. Fiddler’s Elbow led all teams with a -27, followed by 1757 Legends with a -25 and Michelle Holmes with a -19. The 1757 Masters shot a -13, followed by First Tee West with a +1, Delaware 1 with a +4 and the Army/Navy All-Stars with a +11.
In Sunday’s semi-final match play, Michelle Holmes defeated Fiddler’s Elbow 8.5 –
3.5 and Haworth defeated 1757 Legends 7.5 – 4.5, setting up the championship
match between No. 3 Michelle Holmes and No. 4 Haworth. Haworth earned the Regional Championship with a 7-5 win over Michelle Holmes to advance to the National
Championship in Arizona.

In a friendly competition between teams which did not advance to the championship round, Bryce Lloyd and Ryan Hooker from the 1757 Masters 13u team, shot a 32 (-4) to capture the 13u Shootout against 15 other two-person teams.

NO. 2 SEED MID-MARYLAND 1 17U ALL-STARS TAKE REGION 3 CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE

The Mid-Maryland 1 17u team defeated the 1757 Titans to capture the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Region 3 championship, 6.5 - 2.5. Both teams shot a -13 on Day One during stroke play, with the 1757 Titans entering the championship match as the No. 1 seed after recording a lower first round score (-10). Mid-Maryland’s Hank Adams holed out on the 7th hole from 61 yards with a 54-degree wedge to claim the victory, 6.5 to 2.5.

Mid-Maryland 1 advanced to the Championship match after a 6-3 win over Haworth Nicklaus, while 1757 Titans defeated Rolling Green in the other semi-final match Sunday morning.

Haworth Nicklaus and Rolling Green both shot a -12 in stroke play, followed by the Paul Maurer All-Stars with a -11 and the Mid-Maryland 2 All-Stars with a +6.

In a friendly competition between teams which did not advance to the championship round, Amir Patel and Aidan Kim from the Paul Maurer Golf Academy at The Timbers at Troy took top honors in the 17u division.

This was the second year that 17u teams competed in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season. The 17u division (ages 14-17) ends its All-Star journey at the Regional Championships.
