A Wrinkle-Free Towel Will Help You Fix Your Downswing

Published on

Beach towels, bathroom towels, and dish towels. Towels are most likely within an arm’s reach more often than we even realize.
And we know that you all definitely have a golf towel or two (or a collection).
While towels are handy for cleaning our clubs or everyday household messes, they can also be put to good use to help fix your downswing with this drill from PGA Coach Karen Tucker, PGA, of the Southern California section.
If you’re struggling with your downswing, lay down a towel during your next range session and work on keeping it wrinkle-free. Set up the towel about a clubhead length behind the ball and make sure you’re creating a swing path that doesn't affect the towel.
Start by chipping, work your way to a pitch and ultimately take a full swing while focusing on making impact with the ball without disrupting the towel.
Check out the full video from Tucker and be sure to find a coach in your area on PGA.com/Coach to take your game to the next level in 2021.
