A PGA Member since 1996, Michael brings over 25 years of elite instruction experience back to Spring Hill College Golf Course. After serving as the Director of Instruction at Azalea City for 15 years, Michael has returned to where his Mobile teaching career began. His global perspective—spanning from Birmingham and Raleigh to international residencies in Thailand and Uruguay—allows him to connect with golfers of all backgrounds.

Having mentored under legendary instructors like Hank Johnson and Wayne Flint, Michael excels at translating complex swing mechanics into simple, actionable feels. He combines this deep technical pedigree with modern tools like Launch Monitor data and Video Analysis to create a world-class learning environment for every student.

Teaching Method

Michael believes in a developmental approach of instruction that is based on building a solid foundation using golf fundamentals. He works with students to foster sound golf skills through repetitive motion training, using theories developed by experts in motor skill learning. His approach is long-term, but can be applied in a short-term setting, to realize significant improvement in ball flight in just one day. He is equally adept at teaching both beginners and advanced players in private or group sessions.
